ChromeOS has two significant problems. The first is there is no email? client. If you needed to check your email, your host? will have to provide for webmail support which isn’t as good as an email client. Simply put, there is no email client for ChromeOS since everything is going through the Chrome Web Browser.
In addition, there is no FTP support. If you are going to use WordPress for your CMS?, then you would have to upload a few thousand files. This simply is too taxing to use an upload file feature. With an ftp client, everything can be uploaded in a precise, and efficient manner. It does not require that you babysit the upload process.
If you are insistent on using ChromeOS, that is fine, but I would suggest that you get a cheap computer, and install an easy to learn Linux installation. You can then install an email client, and an FTP client to the Linux computer, while still using your ChromeOS PC for your normal activity.
